But love also just happens, don't you think? Whether you believe in it or not-? Love-for a creature, or a house, or a painting,, or a man, or a woman. And then, cepending on circumnstance, there are choices to make, and life can get a little too interesting for comfort.

But choosing whether to love or not, that doesn't seem possible--love shows up, then what you do with it, that;s where your choices come in. And it takes so many forms, love.

Oh, I am getting overly wound up here with my own string.. Happy Valentine's Day, Kathy!

Thank you for your input Abigail. Yes I can see your point. I don’t think I have conveyed that yes it isn’t always a choice most times it just happens. This whimsical piece I actually wrote 3 years ago during a discussion with my sons over Valentine’s Day being only commercialism. My view was no matter how the word gets out it’s good to recognize that love exists in all forms for creatures, nature , objects and humans. In my view love is a powerful, positive emotion that is not promoted enough each and every day. Guess in my view optimism many times masks reality.

I think love is like some unnamed thing we pine for

Were sure it will satisfy us but we’re complicated

So powerful, Kathy. It was so refreshing to read your lovely and intimate style of expression. You made Valentine’s Day come alive. And that’s from a person who long ago removed it from his calendar. Ty, again!

Now I’m blushing with gratitude! Thank you for seeing me Bob. It means more than I can say.

It's refreshing to hear the pull and push of love beautifully untangled this way, Kathy! I don't say this alot because I am against all the commerical rigmarole but...Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family!

Thank you Pat. To you and yours as well. My whimsical attempt is too often led by my optimism…this was in response actually to a discussion three years ago that I had with my sons over the idea that Valentine love was just commercialism. I was poorly attempting to promote the emotion of love’s existence in all forms for creatures, nature, objects and humans. I believe that since they now always express love to me on this day, I just might have convinced them if only a smidge.
